Thanks, that is very helpful. I could not believe the book had no translation anywhere, and a lot of the grammar like -um for "and" was not taught.

I have a few questions still.:

For #3 paarkirathu is "it looks", so, "is going to" and "looks to" are more or less the same translation in this case? "The bull looks to hit me"/"the bull is going to hit me"

For #6, Utkaar does not seem to be negative, it looks like it is saying "Sit to eat rice."

For #1, 15, you put these as past tense, is that correct? I am not sure on past tense formation yet.

#17 has the word "solla", "to say/tell" how does that fit into the translation? Is it "Ramani says she will not go to the beach."?

I see what happened with #6, I was looking at the next verb as I typed, it is supposed to be utkar and not vendaan.

    #3 is looking to
In this context, going to, trying to is also OK

#1, Vanthaan is in past tense
    Varuvaan is in future tense

#15 Varavillai is in past tense
It is a combined word Vara + Illai
    Come + Not and means
    Did not come

    #17,
    Has Sella means travel
    not Solla means spoke

    Ramani is a man's name
The ending word is masculine - Mattaan
    not feminine - Mattaall

#2, on the tree is more contextual
#7 is a command from me to some one else
    - Dont drive away the cat
#13. Velan did not see Valli
#14 I kept on eating but could not fill my stomach
#15 He did not come here
#17 Ramani will not go to the beach
#20 She can work in this house
